In a story about Pre vs iPhone, SeekingAlpha has analysed the buzz that each phone has created with its announcement. Palm uses Apple’s 2007 strategy, showing the phone and part of its features months before it hits the market. As both phones are great, they created huge buzz:

As you can see by the chart above, at the time the webOS and Pre were announced during the CES 2009 show, the traffic to the Palm and Sprint pages about them reached up to 400,000 hits a day. This is hell lots of interest but is still not as much as the one that the iPhone created – 600,000. We can cross our fingers and hope that the Pre will have similar luck once it launches – iPhone sales are great, so even if the Pre meets 2/3 of them, it will be a great success.
