It has already been known that the Pre will have stuff like searching through Twitter, iTunes syncing and the App Catalog, but now Jon Rubinstein, Palm executive chairman, and Roger McNamee, Palm director, have officially presented the features. Here is a quick reminder of what the Pre does: first off, we have Palm Media Sync, which will be used for synchronization between your phone and iTunes, allowing you to transfer DRM-free music, video and image content in a snap. Score one for Apple’s app. The officials have also talked about the new functionality, built in the universal search capability of webOS. Searching will include Twitter’s current events and news, delivering fresh info fast and easy, without you having to register a Twitter account. Last but not least, a demo version of the App Catalog has been demonstrated as well. The Palm Pre will come with the App Catalog beta, bringing applications by developers like AP News, Citysearch, Fandango, Pandora and uLocate.

Already been involved in mobile communications as an RF engineer since 1982 when I worked for Motorola. Had Blackberrys for the previous eight years or so, but just pre ordered a Samsung Vibrant from Tmobile. Need a few new features and a new Os to play with. I’m disappointed that Tmobile has turned away the wi-fi compatability hotspot feature in the Samsung Vibrant, but I am certain someone will certainly figure out just how to root it as well as add the feature back in. I’m now transporting a wifi only iPad and want to wirelessly tether it to the cellular phone. Looking forward to obtaining my new phone!
Thanks for the nice article, I’m excitedly waiting for my Samsung Captivate through T-Mobile as soon as they formally confirm that they’re carrying it. I was in my nearby shop today and had a hold of their dummy model. It looks as well as feels very much better than I imagined. This is actually going to be the cell phone to get. Never mind the iPhone 4g, the Galaxy S is where it’s at. As for me, I’m upgrading from a Samsung Pixon after an 18 month contract and am happy to have finally settled on the Galaxy S. The decision process was fraught with many, many hours of investigation on the world wide web. I was close to an HTC Desire and actually closer to an Xperia X10 but then, from out of nowhere, I came across the GSMArena.com review of the Galaxy S and it just does everything so well.
I am a recent Omnia (910) user on Verizon who was really disappointed with Windows Mobile 6.1 and Samsung’s shell. Wound up getting SPB Mobile Shell to obtain a usable interface and needed to abandon Exchange e mail because of protection restrictions. In essence anytime you tried to spot or acquire a call, you had to enter your PIN and I was missing calls as a outcome. Finally made a decision to abandon smartphones for your time becoming (economic factors) and wait for an excellent Android device. The Galaxy S (Facinate) should fit the bill. Disappointed to hear of the GPS concerns. Let me add that Verizon’s 3G support was superb all through and I ultimately stopped using WiFi because V3G was a lot quickly ample for me.Interestingly, I’m applying the Omnia like a wireless device all-around the residence for checking e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and basic browsing. But not being a cell phone!
Hi everyone, I have a niggle… Yahoo roadmaps keeps beginning up on it’s own in background and getting loads of battery with it. For example, yesterday I took it off charge and it was sat idle with all the screen blanked for about 4 hours. When I flicked it on I was surprised to find out that the battery was only 50% full which is poor even for that x10! When I looked at what was working, I discovered Moxier mail (no surprises there) and Yahoo and google Roadmaps.
Nice post. I study one thing more challenging on totally different blogs everyday. It should always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice slightly something from their store. I’d favor to use some with the content on my weblog whether or not you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your net blog. Thanks for sharing.
I was examining some of your articles on this internet site and I believe this internet site is really informative! Keep posting.
